From Glory To Glory is the solo project of singer/songwriter Jonathan F. Douglass. From Glory To Glory’s sound mixes elements from modern Praise & Worship/CCM artists such as Casting Crowns, Lincoln Brewster, and Building 429 with the lyrical and compositional prowess inspired by the likes of Chevelle and TOOL.

At 19 years old, Jonathan took drum lessons from the Worship Leader of Antioch Christian Church in Washington, Indiana, Joe Howard. He taught Jonathan well and effectively launched his journey as a drummer. Joe’s teaching style fit Jonathan perfectly and it allowed him to see the beauty of performing music. 

The very first song Jonathan learned was “ELO Kiddies” by Cheap Trick and would be taught almost the entirety of Cheap Trick’s debut album along with “The Immigrant Song” by Led Zeppelin. After 6 months of lessons, Jonathan started learning songs on his own.

In March 2004, Jonathan joined the Worship Team at Antioch Christian Church. For the next 5 1/2 years, Jonathan would serve along side very knowledgeable and well experienced musicians.

A year after Jonathan started playing drums, he learned his first three chords from the guitarist in his band outside of church. This was when Jonathan discovered his passion for  guitar.

After learning numerous Praise & Worship songs, 90s music, and some classic rock, Jonathan wrote his first song within a year of learning his first three chords. Jonathan started writing songs in 2006 and continues to this day.

Jonathan wrote “I Run To You” in November 2018. After recording was done, Jonathan sent his song to be mixed and mastered by his friend and producer, Jeremy Lewis.

Jonathan served 7 years and 7 months in the United States Army. Upon learning about a contest put on by the Department of Veteran’s Affairs to win an opportunity to play at the 2020 National Creative Arts Festival, he promptly submitted three entries to the appropriate Department. Included in his submissions was “I Run To You”. All three songs won 1st Place locally and “I Run To You” placed 2nd out of 6,000 total Veterans competing nationwide!

Jonathan takes musical influence from a variety of artists. He enjoys the complexity of Avenged Sevenfold and TOOL for their polyphonic/polymetric tendencies. He likes listening to Five Iron Frenzy, Streetlight Manifesto, and Thank You, Scientist because of the texture of the horns. Chevelle and Disciple have a lovely combination of in-your-face, aggressive rock and memorable melodies.

He is currently examining the simplistic and intentional nature of Rammstein.
